Unsnoozy is an alarm clock that asks you to clear a mission before it stops. If something here does not answer your question, write to us and we will get back to you.

My alarm doesn’t ring

Stopping an alarm

Snoozing

Each alarm allows a set number of snoozes per ring (five unless you change it), or none, or unlimited, in the alarm’s settings. The Snooze button shows how many are left and disappears after the last one. The count starts over on the next day’s ring.

Quick alarm

A quick alarm rings a length of time from now instead of at a time of day, for a nap or something you must not miss. It is free, and it does not count toward your number of alarms.

The Quick alarm widget for the Home Screen sets one with a single tap: 10, 20, 30, 45, 60 or 90 minutes, with the settings of the last one you made in the app. Once one is set the widget shows when it rings, and a tap opens the app.

If a tap on the widget opens the app instead, or the widget or the alarm list says Couldn’t set the alarm, Unsnoozy is not allowed to schedule alarms: see My alarm doesn’t ring.

A mission can’t be done

Some missions need the camera or motion. If one of those is not allowed, or not available on your iPhone, the mission says so and lets you stop the alarm without it.

With VoiceOver on, every mission offers Stop without the mission, since most of them have to be seen to be cleared.

If you are stuck with a mission you cannot complete — the object you chose to photograph is not at hand, say — you can still stop the alarm, with the hidden mission.

The hidden mission

Every alarm carries one mission the app never mentions. It is not in the mission list, it costs nothing, and it works when the others cannot: the barcode you registered is on a shampoo bottle at home, and you are in a hotel three time zones away.

  1. Open the iPhone’s Settings app — not Unsnoozy’s Settings tab — go to Apps › Unsnoozy, and turn off Alarms. Now nothing can ring.
  2. Close Unsnoozy — swipe it away in the App Switcher — and open it again. It opens on the alarm list, not on the mission.
  3. Turn off that alarm’s switch, so nothing is left waiting to come back.
  4. Return to the Settings app and turn Alarms back on. Until you do, no alarm rings at all.

This is not cheating. Anyone who can find their way through two apps and three switches is awake, and awake is all a mission was ever checking for. The morning is not added to your record, though.

It is meant for emergencies. If the alarm repeats, turn its switch back on as well, or it will not ring tomorrow.

Notifications

Alarms ring through the system and need no notifications, but three things do, so allow them if you want any of these:

Notifications are turned on for Unsnoozy in the Settings app, under Apps › Unsnoozy.

Unsnoozy Plus

Plus is a monthly subscription. Without it the app is whole: five free missions, one mission on an alarm, up to five alarms. Plus adds:

If Plus lapses nothing is lost: alarms and their missions are kept, and an alarm rings with the first mission on it you own, or Math. Subscribing again brings the rest back.
